Steve Davies: Chester South and Eddisbury
My name is Steve Davies and I’m married with a grown-up son. Before taking early retirement, I was a senior manager at West Cheshire College (now Cheshire College South & West) as Faculty Director for the faculty of Humanities, Languages and Technology, having previously working in the Banking, Legal and Voluntary sectors amongst others. I have served as a Local Government Councillor for 8 years on the now dissolved Chester City Council. I am from the political left and hold strong views about social justice, economic and industrial relations, fairness and the responsibility of those in positions of power and influence (no matter how limited) to make the lives of ordinary people better. I believe that the Labour Party is no longer capable of articulating or delivering those values to people, to the extent that, like the Conservatives, they pay lip service to the on-going climate change crisis without offering any concrete vision for achieving even the stabilisation of emissions never mind real reductions at a meaningful level. Whatever colour political tribe you have traditionally followed, Blue, Red or even Orange, at this election only Greens will tell you the unpalatable truth that we need to treat the Climate Crisis seriously and do everything necessary to ensure our children’s survival no matter what the financial cost. I have been active in my local community for the last 30+ years and residents in my local ward will be used to seeing my face in our regular “Green View” newsletters. Please feel free to drop me an email with any questions/comments you might have. And pleaseā¦think long and hard before you vote any other colour than Green.
