Support your local green candidates for this general election
We need to raise the deposits for our Green candidates to stand in the general election. Residents in Cheshire and Runcorn could be denied the opportunity of voting Green if we can not raise the deposits needed. Can you help find a further £1750 by 20th June to ensure that we can stand candidates in all six of our constituencies?
If we can raise a total above this target, we will use further funds to campaign in our local constituencies in the run up to the election.

Candidates
We have six brilliant candidates ready to stand and for the first time ever, nationally, the Greens aim to stand candidates in every constituency in England and Wales. We have fantastic candidates this year, two of whom are local councillors. Cllrs Chris Copeman and Harry Gorman work tirelessly representing residents’ views in Helsby and Prenton. Another of our candidates, Reverend Mark Green says “I care passionately about bringing communities together and improving social cohesion in Northwich, Winsford and Middlewich. The Green Party believes social justice goes hand in hand with climate justice and that is why I am standing for the Greens in Mid-Cheshire”. The Green voice is more important than ever, please help us by contributing whatever you can afford to get our general election campaigns underway.
Did you know about ‘Short Money’?
Every vote the Greens gain at the general election means Greens in parliament are allocated a greater slice of ‘Short Money’, this is government funding for opposition MPs to aid them carrying out parliamentary business during the next parliament. A Green vote is never wasted as it translates into more Short Money funding for the parliamentary Green Party. For more information about this, click here. https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/sn01663/
Your donation will help locally to get a Green candidate on the ballot.
All the votes received by our candidates at the general election translate into government funding for Green MPs in the next parliament, regardless of where they hail from geographically.
If our candidates are able to retain their deposit, those funds come back to us and will help us strengthen our work here in Cheshire.
The Green Party is different – we don’t take money from corporate sponsors but look to a wide network of supporters from the community. We rely entirely on the kind donations of people like yourselves… Are you with us?

P.S. Because we’re a political party
We’re required to run electoral register checks from people making donations above £500, and if you donate over £1,500 during a year, we are required to let the Electoral Commission know, who will make this available on their website. All donations go to general Green Party funds.
